FUJISOFT Announces Launch of Mobile Thin Client Service
FUJISOFT develops the FSMobile® for Thin Client, a USB data communications terminal that combines thin client functions with a communications module
FUJISOFT INCORPORATED (“FUJISOFT” / First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange 9749 / Head office: Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan / President: Haruhisa Shiraishi) is pleased to announce the launch of its Mobile Thin Client service from May 11, 2010. This service improves security by not leaving corporate data on computers that are taken out of the office.
As part of the launch of this service, FUJISOFT has also developed FSMobile® for Thin Client, a USB data communications terminal that combines thin client functions with high-speed mobile communications functions. The FSMobile® for Thin Client will also be released on May 11, 2010.
It is becoming increasingly important for companies to strengthen their security, but employees are also taking their computers out of the office as an effective way of improving the efficiency of their work. As a result, there is a high demand for the creation of network environments that strike a good balance between usability on the one hand and security concerns (such as preventing information leaks and virus infections) on the other hand.
| It has been estimated that the market for thin client solutions will be worth more than ¥140 billion by 2013. In July last year, FUJISOFT selected thin client + SaaS as a potential engine for medium- to long-term growth. The launch of the Mobile Thin Client service today is the first step in making thin client + SaaS a key pillar of FUJISOFT’s business, and FUJISOFT is aiming to generate ¥500 million in revenue from this service during its first year of operation. | 【Environment for using FSMobile® for Thin Client】 |

FUJISOFT will also release FSMobile® for Thin Client as one of the key elements of the Mobile Thin Client service. FSMobile® for Thin Client makes it easy for any existing computer to be turned into a thin client by simply plugging it in to a USB port. This product delivers a secure, mobile thin client environment by integrating thin client software, a Linux-based operating system and a 3G communications module within a data communications terminal. FUJISOFT will use the technical prowess that it has cultivated in the process of developing embedded software for numerous mobile devices, to continue to provide secure mobile thin client solutions that can be used anywhere and at any time, maximizing the benefits of mobile technology will still guarding against the risk of information leaks. |
