Environmental Initiatives

In 1998, Fuji Soft became the first independent software company in Japan to acquire certification under ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental conservation activities. Guided by our environmental philosophy, which affirms our commitment to protecting the greenery of the Amazon, environmental conservation is a management priority. We take concrete steps to conserve natural resources and continually improve our environmental performance to help ensure that future generations can enjoy the Earth’s natural beauty and resources.

Environmental policy

Environmental conservation is a management priority. We are committed to helping create a sustainable global society and passing the Earth’s natural beauty and resources to future generations.

Action guidelines

  1.  Contribute to a carbon-neutral society by advancing ICT and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from our business activities
  2.  Practice environmental management in full compliance with environmental laws, local regulations, and other commitments to which we are a signatory
  3.  Coexist in harmony with international and local communities
  4.  Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  5.  Protect the global environment to prevent pollution and help mitigate global warming by encouraging all employees in and outside the workplace to always look for ways to lessen environmental impact, conserve energy, and reduce energy consumption

Environmental management system

Fuji Soft has obtained ISO 14001 certification and maintains a sustainability promotion structure and environmental management system (EMS) headed by an environmental officer. The EMS executive manager and EMS team implement energy-saving measures through operational streamlining, ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, and prevent accidents and pollution that could damage the environment. In addition, internal EMS auditors plan and report audits to the Environmental Committee. Through these and other efforts, we continue to improve the Company’s environmental performance and contribute to creating a carbon-neutral society.

Other initiatives to reduce the environmental burden

  • Utilizing high-efficiency heat-source equipment and otherwise implementing energy-saving measures
  • Enforcing countermeasures aimed at ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and ordinances governing effluents, waste, noise, etc.
  • Encouraging employees to work from home in addition to introducing location-free office arrangements and utilizing shared office spaces
  • Assessing and reducing the volume of waste emissions while promoting recycling
