Human Resource Policy

Fuji Soft pursues sustainable growth and enhanced corporate value guided by its corporate credo of “Challenge & Creation” and by the belief that our greatest asset is our people and that “a company is its people.”

Recognizing that the value of our human capital directly corresponds to the value of our corporation, we place high priority on cultivating our workforce and encourage all employees, to take on challenges and seek to fulfill their potential.

Human resource policy

We believe in the potential of “people” and value all individuals who work with integrity. We provide opportunities for growth, promote advancement of diverse individuals, and enable various work styles.

Human Resource Development Policy

Human resource development policy

Based on the belief that “a company is its people,” we place strong priority on human resource development and actively promote initiatives that empower every employee to reach their potential. These efforts include learning opportunities, awareness-building activities, programs that inspire new ideas, and other measures designed to support personal growth and cultivate a diverse pool of talent pursuing careers that contribute to Fuji Soft and society.

Securing Human Resources and Labor-Related Matters

The Fuji Soft Group’s business depends on its human resources and securing and developing a talented workforce capable of providing specialized, high value-added technologies is essential to the Group’s sustainable growth. In Japan, the available workforce continues to shrink due to the declining birthrate and aging population, creating increasingly competitive conditions for securing talent. Our business performance may be adversely affected if we are unable to secure and develop the personnel required for our operations or if wages or personnel costs rise sharply. Labor compliance violations, such as harassment or excessive working hours, could also undermine the Group’s performance and financial position by lowering productivity, triggering the loss of personnel, leading to lawsuits, or damaging our social credibility.

We are responding to the changing circumstances with initiatives designed to preserve and foster a healthy and resilient working environment. Along with actively recruiting new talent, we promote flexible workstyles and workforce diversity through a comprehensive human resource development program offering extensive opportunities for education, training, and self-directed learning. We are improving our compensation structure, operating the L Career Promotion Section to support career advancement for women across the organization, and building systems and workplaces that accommodate diverse workstyles. We also ensure that all employees understand labor-related issues through dedicated training and education programs. Labor risk is further minimized through our internal reporting system, which supports early detection of compliance issues and enables timely and appropriate responses.

Active talent recruitment and training

The Fuji Soft Group’s corporate manifesto, the “Fuji Soft Spirit,” consists of 23 sections that outline essential principles for all employees. It begins with our core corporate and management philosophies and extends to themes such as the nature of business and the qualities expected of managers.

The opening statement affirms our belief that “a company is its people.” Guided by this philosophy, our personnel policy is built on respect for our people as our greatest asset and on the conviction that the value of our human capital directly reflects the value of our corporation. We believe that sustainable growth depends on creating an environment where every employee can embrace challenges and perform at their highest level.

Our recruitment activities bring in a large number of new employees each year and include actively hiring individuals from diverse professional backgrounds. Beyond specialized skills, we seek candidates who demonstrate flexible thinking and independent initiative, qualities that are increasingly important as business activities continue to globalize and digitalize.

Our employee education programs are guided by our policy of “respecting self-initiative” and include a range of opportunities for independent learning and development. Training for new employees is offered in a hybrid format that combines group sessions and online instruction. The curriculum covers business etiquette and IT fundamentals along with courses on AI, IoT, and other advanced technologies.

We also support ongoing career development after employees are placed in their positions. Our tiered training programs, specialized technical courses, and reskilling initiatives allow employees to continue strengthening their DX capabilities and master new technologies.

We will continue to adapt to the changes in society accompanying the expanding use of telework, digitalization, AI, IoT, and other technological innovations. We remain committed to actively recruiting and developing talent to enhance our corporate value and achieve sustainable growth.

Engineer Training

New employee training

Fuji Soft is prioritizing developing advanced technologies in AI, IoT, security, cloud, robot, mobile and automotive (AIS-CRM) fields. Our wide ranging recruitment efforts look beyond academic background and work history to identify individuals who demonstrate initiative and drive. We are committed to fully supporting and developing people who are eager to grow into professional engineers.

New employees participate in up to two months of professional and technical training. The professional training covers business etiquette and fundamental business practices, while the technical training provides programming instruction tailored to each person’s starting skill level. This ensures employees without programming experience, including those from liberal arts backgrounds, can begin their careers with confidence. Recent programs have also introduced the latest technologies by providing basic instruction in AI and hands-on practice using AI for programming.

Training is also provided six months after employees begin a new position. This follow-up training reviews their work experience, assists in refining work processes, and covers other topics that support continued development. We also offer a comprehensive range of position-based tiered training, along with optional skill advancement courses for system engineers in areas such as logical thinking, design theory, project management, and AI applications.

New employees participate in the Brother & Sister (BS) program, which pairs each person with a senior employee who provides one-on-one instruction and career guidance. This program helps new workers become productive quickly and grow into engineers who are confident working with AI and other advanced technologies.

Continuous engineer development

Fuji Soft provides a variety of training programs matched to career levels to help engineers build their skills. Young engineers receive the training they need to grow steadily as system engineers. The training covers development technologies and systems engineering theory on roles and skills expected throughout a project. System engineers also receive training in design theory covering basic design concepts and points, along with case studies that follow the process from design input to design output.

Training based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is provided to both current and prospective project managers to help them develop the skills needed to guide projects to successful completion. Project managers across the Company take part in the PM Liaison Meeting, which builds a cohesive community through sharing successful initiatives, exchanging know-how, and discussing specific measures.

Development of technical specialists is similarly supported by the annual company-wide Innovation Conference and regularly held Technology Presentations in which Fuji Soft specialists share technological advances and in-house research accomplishments.

All members of the Fuji Soft engineer community also attend the Architect Liaison Meeting to cultivate and create engineers capable of reviewing and planning system architecture.

These and other training programs are available online for Fuji Soft employees to access from anywhere. Training is also offered in other formats suited to specific objectives, including group web conferences, e-learning, and blended formats.

We also provide formats for employees to learn from one another. Our internal video streaming platform allows employees to upload videos that share know-how and insights on any topic. In addition, our in-house social media system supports self-directed learning by allowing employees to connect with in-house specialist for answers to technical questions.

Fuji Soft is dedicated to cultivating skilled engineers who will continue to drive the advancement of ICT in Japan and around the world.

FujiEdu education management system

Our human resource development is further bolstered by the FujiEdu education management system, which provides integrated management and operation of all in-house training. The system contains a full range of training programs matched to the skill requirements for each position and level, allowing employees to participate in recommended programs for advancing their careers. Employees can also choose from optional training programs to complete at their own pace.

Management and technical skill certification

Fuji Soft maintains in-house certification programs that allow engineers to tailor their own career path. The project manager and specialist certification programs provide a clear framework for the skill levels expected of PMs and SPs, with the goals of motivating employees to continue developing expertise and of cultivating talent to drive high value-added business activities. A key feature of these programs is that they accommodate midcareer shifts, such as engineers in management choosing to focus on specialist technical skills.
