CMMI: Obtaining Level 3
Fuji Soft obtained Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)*1 Level 3 certification in 2006 in the mobile communications field (mobile phone embedded software development projects).
Developed by the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute (CMU SEI), CMMI is an internationally recognized framework used to assess the maturity of an organization’s software development processes across five levels.
In 1995, Fuji Soft became the first independent software company in Japan to obtain ISO 9001 certification. Building on the quality management system we had cultivated over many years, we improved our organizational processes to further raise the quality and productivity of our software development. After launching the pilot project, the Company obtained Level 3 status in roughly one and a half years.
We are continuing to improve our organizational processes to deliver high-quality software and further enhance customer satisfaction, while aiming to expand into new fields and attain higher certification levels.
*1 CMMI replaced the Software Capability Maturity Model (SW-CMM) for software development systems engineering and procurement.
